At 268 Dental we can appreciate your first visit may feel a little daunting but we are here to help make your appointment a breeze.
As a new patient you will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire to help us understand your health history. This will be routinely reviewed to make sure we remain informed. We will spend time getting to know you, enabling us to help you better.
What happens at a dental check-up?
- We will thoroughly examine your teeth, gums and mouth.
- Carry out an oral cancer screening.
- Take X-rays if necessary.
- Discuss any dental problems you may have had previously.
- Discuss general health and dietary issues that can affect your teeth and gums – such as alcohol consumption or smoking.
- Discuss your teeth-cleaning habits and provide preventative advice, such as brushing technique, and recommend any improvements such as interdental brushes or flossing as required.
- Explain any further treatment you may need, such as fillings, root canal treatment or hygienist appointments.
- Provide you with a full treatment plan.
- Answer any questions you may have regarding your treatment and what options are available.
- If you require no other treatment, we will let you know when you should come for your next check-up.
